Dorval Lodge is located alongside Highway 117 at kilometer
402, in the center of the LaVerendrye wildlife reserve in Abitibi. In fact, we
are the only outfitter indicated on most Quebec road maps.
Our cottages
are dispersed along the shoreline of the Dozois reservoir. This body of water,
which covers an area of about 2,600 miles, was originally established by lumber
companies to facilitate log floating and through the years, it became a fishing
territory famous for the quality and quantity of its catches.
Being the
only outfitter on the huge Dozois reservoir, we know that fishing pressure is
relatively low compared to other more popular reservoirs.
